About us
Hello! We are Assistive Tech Suppliers. We’re here to help every Australians achieve appropriate technology that can help them thrive. Our big goal is to be the go-to place for getting assistive technology for NDIS participants providing a great shopping experience for them to checkout items at ease. We think everyone should have easy access to good tech that suits their needs.
We started by helping people who are deaf and hard of hearing. We created something special called Visualert™. It’s the first fully hard wired and customisable system in Australia made specifically for deaf and hard of hearing. It tells them about sounds around their home through visual and sensory notifications. We’re really happy about how Visualert™ has changed the lives of many people and families.
We work with support coordinators, occupational therapists and audiologists by helping them with research and suggestions on appropriate assistive technology that are reasonable and can potentially improve their clients’ lives.
We’re also an Apple Authorized Reseller. We’ve so far supplied hundreds of tablets and smartwatches for NDIS participants and their support network. These devices have helped with communication challenges making everyday things easier.
Our company is part of the Got To Give Charitable Trust ACN 654 735 752. This trust is all about helping good causes based in Australia. Got To Give is aimed to provide local aid, contributions and sponsorship programs for Voluntary Australian organisations that are primarily focused on the disability sector and its associated events and programs.

How NDIS Revolutionizes Access to Assistive Technology in Australia
Unveiling a World of Independence through NDIS
In a world where independence is not just a desire but a fundamental right, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Australia stands as a beacon of hope and empowerment. For individuals living with disabilities, everyday tasks that many take for granted can pose significant challenges. This is where NDIS steps in, playing a pivotal role in bridging the gap between limitations and possibilities. The scheme’s commitment to providing assistive technology to its participants marks a significant stride towards inclusivity and independence.
The Essence of Assistive Technology
Assistive technology encompasses a wide range of equipment and devices designed to aid individuals with disabilities in performing tasks that they would otherwise find difficult or impossible. This technology is not just about functionality; it’s about restoring autonomy and dignity to those who face daily challenges. The categorization of this technology into ‘low cost’ and ‘mid cost’ ensures that a broad spectrum of needs and financial circumstances are catered to, making independence accessible to all.
Low Cost Assistive Technology: The Affordable Stepping Stone
Low cost assistive technology, priced under AUD $1,500 per item, includes simpler devices like modified eating utensils, hand rails, specialized software and some consumer electronics. These items, though small in price, are colossal in the difference they make to daily life, offering the first steps towards self-reliance.
Mid Cost Assistive Technology: Bridging the Gap
Mid cost assistive technology, falling between $1,500 and $15,000, covers more complex equipment such as mobility scooters and communication devices. These are more than just tools; they are lifelines that connect individuals with disabilities to a wider world of possibilities.
NDIS: The Catalyst for Change
The NDIS’s role in the area of assistive technology is multifaceted. It not only funds these vital tools but also ensures that participants receive the right equipment that best suits their individual needs. This personalized approach reflects a deep understanding that every disability is unique, and so too should be the support provided.
The scheme’s involvement extends beyond mere funding. It encompasses a network of support coordinators, occupational therapists, and other allied health professionals, ensuring a holistic approach to each participant’s journey. This collaborative effort ensures that the transition to using assistive technology is smooth, empowering, and life-changing.
A Future Shaped by Access and Inclusion
As we delve deeper into the wonders of assistive technology and the transformative role of NDIS, it’s clear that this is more than just a policy or a program. It’s a movement towards a more inclusive and accessible future. A future where disabilities do not dictate one’s abilities, where technology is a bridge to opportunities, and where every individual has the tools to carve out their path of independence.
Through this blog series, we aim to explore the various facets of NDIS and assistive technology, shining a light on the stories of triumph and resilience. Join us as we navigate this inspiring journey, one blog at a time, and witness how NDIS is not just changing lives but redefining them.
